Search begins for 2017 Battle of the Bands competition
The search has begun for Riverside County’s top young bands, to be featured in the seventh annual Battle of the Bands competition at the 2017 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival.
The 71st annual fair takes place February 17-26.
Seven bands will be selected to peform from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, on the Magic Carpet Stage at the Riverside County Fairgrounds.
Organizers said the Fourth District Youth Advisory Council will review all applications, which must include a demo CD, stage plot, lyrics for all the songs they will play (at least one cover song) and a photo of the band.
Band requirements:
Must be made up of Riverside County residents Ages 26 or younger Submit application by January 23
According to the festival’s release, contestants will be evaluated on technical performance, originality of songs, professionalism, stage presence, vocals and audience reaction. The winning band will take home $5,000 worth of music equipment sponsored by Music Depot LA, and the second and third place finishers will receive trophies.
