Man identified in deadly Palm Springs crash

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died following a two-car crash in Palm Springs Tuesday night.

Louis O’Donnell, a 69-year-old from Palm Springs, died at Desert Regional Medical Center about an hour after the collision, which happened at about 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of Ramon Road and Farrell Drive, according to the coroner’s report.

Palm Springs police officers said a SUV and a Mini Cooper were the two vehicles involved in the crash. The other driver was taken to the hospital with what police described as minor to moderate injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Traffic was shut down in the area while police and emergency crews were on scene Monday night.
