Surveillance photos show woman robbing Carl’s Jr. with rifle

The Cathedral City Police Department released surveillance photos of a woman accused of robbing a Carl’s Jr. with a rifle early Wednesday morning.

The armed robbery occurred at 6 a.m. at the Carl’s Jr. located in the 32100 block of Date Palm Drive.

Witnesses said the suspect walked into the business, pulled out a rifle and demanded money. She left the area with an unknown amount of cash and officers weren’t able to locate her after they arrived to the business.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic woman with a thin build, about 5’7″ tall, 140-160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The woman was wearing a blue bandana over her face and a white blanket draped over her body. Witnesses said she was wearing dark pants, a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark tennis shoes.

The rifle she used was described as a small rifle of an unknown caliber.

Nobody at the restaurant was injured during the armed robbery, according to authorities.
