Hundreds turn out for Palm Desert anti-Trump protest

Hundreds of protesters turned out for a march against President Donald Trump on Saturday morning.

In a message to KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2, organizers called it a peaceful march against a “racist, bigot, sexist man.”

The event started around 10:45 a.m. at the Civic Center Park off of Fred Waring Drive and continued to the Westfield Palm Desert Mall. Some protesters eventually made their way to El Paseo.

This event was a separate gathering from the Women’s March taking place in Palm Springs and other cities around the country. Organizers for the nation-wide protest said their event was not about President Trump, but rather an effort to address “systematic inequalities he highlights” with his decisions.

We will take you inside both local protests tonight on CBS Local 2 and KESQ News Channel 3.
