Indio High School students attend Women’s March on Washington

Earlier this week, KESQ News Channel 3’s and CBS Local 2’s Katie Widner had the chance to sit down with four Coachella Valley teenagers who were heading to Washington D.C. to see the presidential inauguration.

The group was also on hand to see the Women’s March on Washington, where organizers say more than half a million people turned out.

Indio High School teacher Lisa Nava, who organized the trip, reached out to the station on Saturday. She said they had not planned on attending the March, but that there was no where else to walk in the National Mall. Nava described the event as “organized and peaceful.”

IHS students Marcella Angulo, Guillermo Deloroso, Markus Clipper and Desiree Ayala saved up for about a year to make the trip.
