Nearly a thousand march at local anti-Trump protests

Nearly a thousand people took to the streets just a day after 45th President Donald Trump was sworn into office.

For miles, people marched down the sidewalks of palm desert, hoping to send Trump a message that his agenda will not go unchallenged. “Every time he starts doing something like repealing ACA (Affordable Care Act) or deporting immigrants and diving families, we’re going to be there until the end, and it’s possible we will get him impeached, ’cause he’s going to make a lot of mistakes,” said one protestor. “We hope to create awareness, not only across the U.S, but the world, that we don’t accept Trump as our president. We’re part of the resistance. We will be constant and strong until the day he is out of office,” another protestor said. Many marched with their families and hundreds sported the now-famous, pink hat. “Their supposed to be ears right here for a cat and it’s in protest of Donald Trump because he wanted to grab woman,” one woman said. Meanwhile, in Palm Springs, a Women’s March was underway. Palm Springs Councilmembers, Ginny Foat, Geoff Kors, and J.R Roberts joined in on the demonstration. Both protests raised concern over the future of the country. “I just cant accept what has happened, what’s happening in the country, it just breaks my heart,” one woman explained.
