Two local guide dogs celebrate their 12th birthday

Saturday afternoon Ben and Jerry, who are two of ‘Guide Dogs of the Desert’s’ ambassador dogs, celebrated their 12th birthday at Ben and Jerry’s ice cream parlor.

“Both these puppies were donated to the school and Ben and Jerry sponsored them and named them. That’s why they’re Ben and Jerry, for the ice cream store. This was kind of a big birthday so I thought, let’s do a celebration,” said the dogs’ trainer, Debbie Davis. All dogs who attended the birthday party received a free scoop of mango sorbet, a dog bone, and a piece of the pups’ birthday cake.
