Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association hosts fundraiser

Big Rock Pub in Indio hosted ‘Rock the Ride’ as a kick off party for the Palm Springs’ Cruisin’ Association’s biggest fundraiser of the year, The Dr. George Car Show, to benefit the Desert Cancer Foundation.

“We’re loving the fact that we can actually close a golf course mid-season to be able to do this. If you give a $20 donation you get our happy hour prices all day. And you’re just giving to a great cause,” said the general manager of the golf course and Big Rock Pub.

“This will be our 15th year putting on the car show to raise money for Desert Cancer. We’ve had members in our club who have survived because of Dr. Sebastian George, so we promised to keep his legacy alive by raising money for the foundation,” said one member from the association.

Last year the car enthusiasts raised $80,000, but this year they’re hoping to raise $100,000.

The Dr. George Car Show is scheduled for February 11.
