Desert Hot Springs man arrested, charged with weapons and violating probation

A Desert Hot Springs man is behind bars charged with having weapons and violating probation.

Desert Hot Springs Police officers stopped 24-year-old Richard Winters at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the 66100 block of 3rd Street.

Officers said they found out Winters was on felony probation, and two other women in the car had warrants for their arrest.

Inside Winters’ car, they said officers found a handgun and a brass knuckle knife.

Winters was booked into the County Jail in Banning.

Officers said the two other women in the car were arrested and booked on unrelated warrants.
