Child injured in DUI crash
An Indio man is in custody after causing a crash while driving under the influence.
Jose Arismendez, 40, is charged with suspicion of DUI, driving with a suspended license and felony child endangerment.
Deputies responded to a crash just before 5 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Washington Street and Calle Tampico, where a car and a pickup truck hit each other. Police said Arismendez was driving the pickup truck. One child was injured in the crash but there’s no word which vehicle the child was in.
Arismendez was booked at the county jail in Indio. His bail is set at $50,000.
