Presentation about dangers of drinking & driving held at PDHS

A student presentation about the dangers of drinking and driving was held Thursday morning on the football field at Palm Desert High School.

California Highway Patrol and the program, “Every 15 Minutes” partner together to bring simulated traffic collision to school.

“We need to teach these kids at an early age that driving under the influence is a major problem. This is months of planning,” said Officer Mike Radford with Indio CHP.

Students witnessed the devastation of driving under the influence.

“When they see what’s actually going on and what could happen, they will understand that it’s not worth it to drink and drive,” said a PDHS student.

Parents who watched the simulation were emotional.

“Overwhelming, sad, but really, really impactful,” said Karyn Weger, a PDHS parent.
