Indio records its highest temperature for March 13 in 101 years

We’re still a week away from the official start of the spring season, but cities around the Coachella Valley must be preparing for summer; Indio set a new daily high temperature record and Palm Springs tied its previous high temp for March 13.

KESQ First Alert Meteorologist Haley Clawson said Indio set a new record for March 13 by reaching 98 degrees. The city’s previous high temperature for the day was 97 degrees, which was set in 1916.

Palm Springs tied its daily high temperature record for March 13, reaching 98 degrees, which was set in 2007.

Thermal reached 100 degrees on Monday, also setting a new record for March 13. This beat Thermal’s previous high temperature for the day by 3 degrees, which was recorded in 2013.
