Young actors hit red carpet for Young Artist Awards

Potential future Leonardo Dicaprios and Emma Stones converged on the Alex Theatre in Glendale Friday for the Young Artist Awards.

Young actors and actresses turned out dressed to the nines for the kids’ version of the Oscars. The kids strutted their stuff on the red carpet and performers from Le Petit Cirque entertained guests

Some honorees had some fun on the red carpet with Alexandra Pierce.

“Just being in a role that I might possibly get an award for is just crazy, because just a couple years ago I would never think I would get an award for a role that I did,” said Asia Monet Ray, from “Grey’s Anatomy”.

The awards show was started in 1978 and is one of the longest-running youth award shows in Hollywood. Past honorees include Natalie Portman, Drew Barrymore, Winona Ryder and Mario Lopez.
