Students at Cathedral City HS now have their own swimming pool

Students at Cathedral City High School are excited to have their very own swimming pool at the school. It’s the school’s very first swimming pool since opening in 1991.

The Water Polo and swim teams have been bussed daily to Palm Springs Swim Center for the past 26 years. Cathedral City leaders were on hand for the unveiling of the ‘one-of-a-kind’ facility on Tuesday.

C.C.H.S. Swim and Water Polo Coach Brad Fleener said he couldn’t be happier with the new swimming pool.

“This is not your average everyday swimming pool. It’s so perfect. There are so many things about it technology-wise, from the display board to the timing system,” Fleener said. “Everything is so functional and so easy to use. Yeah, I could not be happier. It’s exactly what was in the back of my mind, and now it’s here. So it’s perfect.”

Coach Fleener said he looks forward to carrying on the school’s tradition, and being able to do it at home.
