Pole catches on fire after being hit by car causing small outage in Desert Hot Springs

A car crashed into a pole in Desert Hot Springs, causing the pole to catch on fire and a small outage in the area.

The accident happened on the 10-600 block of Sunset Avenue at around 2:10 PM. A small area of road near where the pole is down has been blocked off.

According to Cal Fire, the pole was on fire when they arrived at the scene.SCE crews arrived a little later, 61 customers were without power for a little bit due to the pole being down. You can check the status of the outage on the SCE website.

Authorities are still investigating what caused the driver to crash into the pole.
