Festivalgoers begin to arrive for Coachella

The surge of music fans began to flood into Indio on Thursday. Coachella music and arts festivalgoers are ready for a weekend of making memories.

Campers from far and wide were the first to arrive.

“I think that is just part of the whole experience is the camping,” said Richard Yang who traveled from San Jose for his first Coachella experience.

Festivalgoers say they are prepared for desert weather.

“Sunscreen and hydration. You have to drink water,” said Stephanie McBain who is also attending her first Coachella concert.

Winds were consistent during the afternoon and evening Thursday, but it was nothing near the dust storms the festival has seen in years past.

The real influx of people starts Friday and the Indio Police Department is asking for all drivers to be patient.
