Suspect arrested in Rancho Mirage armed robbery
Police were investigating a Rancho Mirage armed robbery Friday morning, and had taken suspects into custody.
California Highway Patrol officers stopped a suspect on Interstate 10 eastbound east of the Coachella Valley near Hayfield Road.
Three suspects were detained in the suspect vehicle.
Officers were trying to determine if a man in the vehicle threatened a man with a gun then robbed him at a Chevron station inside the Gelson’s Shopping Center Plaza.
A Riverside County Sheriffs Department spokesman, Deputy Michael Vasquez, said the robbery was reported at 7:20 a.m. at the corner of Bob Hope Drive and Gerald Ford Drive.
Vasquez did not say how much money was taken.
