Former Palm Desert star, NFL player James Dockery to coach at Xavier Prep HS

Former Palm Desert star, Oregon State Beaver and NFL player James Dockery is the new head coach at Xavier Prep High School, the school announced Wednesday.

The 28 year-old Dockery is the third head coach in the program’s history and will be taking over for Bob Molyet.

Dockery released the following statement on Wednesday:

“It’s truly a wonderful time in my life! I am very blessed to be able to come back home and help build through faith and football. This is such an amazing and unique opportunity for my family and I. We can’t wait to come back and embrace the community. I am eager to help build young men and women both on and off the field,” Dockery said.

Dockery went on to say, “More than football, I look to help these individuals become productive citizens in the world and build lasting relationships far beyond their playing days. Our goals are to win on the field and in life, and I am so thankful Xavier is giving me this amazing opportunity. It’s going to present challenges but I am no stranger to challenges and look forward to it. ‘Trust the Process’ God Bless and Go Saints!”.
