Thousands arrive for weekend 2 of Coachella
Weekend 2 of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival kicked off Friday night. Concert goers had to deal with traffic and warm temperatures.
Throughout the day there was bumper-to-bumper traffic on I-10 and there were long lines to find a parking space at the Empire Polo Grounds.
Some people chose to trade four wheels for two once they were close to the venue, but it’s hard to ride a bike in the soft sand near the concert venue.

Some concertgoers that KESQ and CBS Local 2 reporter Joe Galli interviewed said weekend 2 is better for people from the Coachella Valley than weekend 1, even though there are fewer parties and fewer celebrity sightings.
“Locals do it best. I was raised here and weekend 2 is always the best weekend,” said Carlos Lopez who is attending the festival with about a dozen friends from the Coachella Valley.
Aside from partying and music, people were also prepared with water and ice. Hot temperatures are expected for the festival weekend.
