Traffic backs up for miles on eastbound I-10 for Coachella Fest
The second wave of traffic has arrived for the concluding weekend of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. The California Highway Patrol reported eastbound traffic back ups on I-10 all the way to Monterey Avenue as of Friday afternoon.

Officers said traffic congestion was occurring at every eastbound exit leading up to Indio as tens of thousands of people arrive for the second week of the festival. If you aren’t going to the festival and you need to head east, you should avoid I-10 or expect major delays.

Caltrans is urging drivers who use I-10 between Beaumont and Indio or I-15 through Fontana to try and avoid travel on Friday and again on Sunday afternoon through Monday night.
In addition, the closure of northbound Interstate 15 (I-15) at Duncan Canyon in Fontana will take place beginning Friday night, April 21, at 11:00 p.m. and continue through Monday morning, April 24, at 6:00 a.m.
A multiple car crash in Beaumont also created traffic on Hwy 60 Friday morning, but the road was cleared as of about 6:15 a.m.
