Firefighters contain Sterling fire in San Bernardino County

A brush fire in San Bernardino County is out Sunday morning. The Sterling fire broke out just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

San Bernardino County fire officials said on twitter that the fire was burning in the Borea Canyon area. That’s just north of the city of San Bernarino at the base of the San Bernardino National Forest.

The fire started in the city, but made its way into the forest. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to 30 acres in about an hour. Firefighters said crews stayed overnight to watch over the burned area.
