VIEWER VIDEO: Bees take over parked bike in Palm Springs

The owner of this bicycle couldn’t bee-lieve what he was seeing.

Roman Ocelo was leaving his job at Luigi’s Barber Shop in Palm Springs, but when he got to his bike parked near the intersection of Palm Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way, he found that his bicycle was taken over by hundreds of bees.

Ocelo shot this video about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 reporter Joe Galli talked to Ocelo over the phone.

Ocelo said there were several people taking pictures with the bees, and the stinging insects are not bothering any of the people passing by on the street. Ocelo plans on just leaving the bees alone until they go way. The bike is locked up and he doesn’t think anyone will take it, especially in its current condition.
