Early AM Commuter Alert: Freeway Closures continue in Indio and Desert Hot Springs
Early morning commuters will want to avoid Interstate 10 in Indio and the Highway 62 to I-10 eastbound interchange Thursday.
Construction crews were continuing work to bring down and haul away the old Indio Boulevard bridge in Indio at the Jefferson Street Interchange project.
East and westbound freeway lanes were shut down with traffic detouring to Varner Road and Avenue 42.
The overnight work was set to end by 6 a.m.
Crews near Desert Hot Springs were also continuing concrete repair work that is shutting down the connector ramp from Highway 62 southbound to Interstate 10 eastbound.
Motorists were detouring of Highway 62 at Dillon Road to Indian Canyon Drive, then back on the freeway.
Both construction projects were set to run through Friday.
