The wreaths will be placed on both sides of the highway where memorial signs are located.
The wreaths in the past have had blue ribbons as a symbol of his service as a law enforcement officer.
A 3 mile run is then planned from the memorial to the La Quinta Civic Center Park, with a memorial ceremony taking place after the run.
Deputy Lee was beaten to death by a mentally disturbed man in 2003.
He knew the family and went into the home before back-up arrived.
Other deputies shot and killed the suspect in the crime.
Lee was a La Quinta resident and worked for the Sheriff’s Department for 23 years.
He would have been 60-years-old next week.
