Dozens come out to social to support LQHS

Dozens gathered in La Quinta to support Blackhawk Nation Saturday night.

About 150 people came out for the 2nd Annual La Quinta High School Spring Social at the J & J Ranch.

School administrators said the event allows groups to come together to raise money for the school, its clubs and athletic programs.

“It just brings everybody together as a community, and we like to think of La Quinta High as a community,” LQHS Principal Rebecca Cook said. “We have the Mayor (Linda Evans) here, all kinds of school board members, the foundation members, everyone coming together and really realizing that we’re all here together for the kids.”

KESQ First-Alert Chief Meteorologist Haley Clawson served as the event’s Mistress of Ceremonies.

Cook said they hoped to raise about $15,000 for their school.
