4 injured after being shocked while swimming in Palm Desert pool

Emergency crews were called to the Marriott Shadow Ridge Resort in Palm Desert Wednesday afternoon after four people, including two children, were shocked while swimming in a pool.

It happened in the Chuckawalla Pool, Cal Fire officials said in a news release. The resort is located in the 9000 block of Shadow Ridge Road. Authorities said all four of the patients were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the electrical short hasn’t been determined yet. An investigation is underway.
