Coachella shooting suspect in custody after standoff

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was investigating a shooting at an apartment within the 700 Block of Vine Avenue in Coachella, according to Deputy Munoz of the Riverside County Sheriff Department.

Munoz says the Department received a call at 12:45 p.m. that shots were fired, in the area near Vine and 5th Street. Nobody was injured during the shooting.

Deputies arrived on scene and attempted to make contact with the occupants. Deputies attempted to have the occupants exit the apartment but they refused.
