Burglary & carjacking suspect arrested after short pursuit in Indio

A carjacking and burglary investigation leads to a short pursuit and arrest in Indio Thursday evening.

23-year-old Alex Martinez was arrested following a short pursuit.

According to Deputy Mike Vasquez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation on a carjacking and residential burglary led Deputies to a residence on Avenida Romero in Indio.

Martinez was at the residence and attempted to evade arrest, causing a short pursuit to ensue.

Deputies with assistance from the Indio Police Department located Martinez 10 minutes later at around 7:45 on Clinton and Fred Waring.
