60 valley kittens get second chance at Oregon Humane Society

Sixty kittens are on their way to their second chance at the Oregon Humane Society, as part of No Kill Coachella Valley’s transport operations.

No Kill Coachella Valley (NKCV) is a coalition of animal welfare organizations striving to end the killing of healthy and treatable animals in Coachella Valley. NKCV organizes monthly transports of cats and dogs to the Oregon Humane Society in Portland, where they get adopted out quickly. This clears our valley shelters, leaving room for more homeless pets to get off the streets.

So far, more than 260 animals have been saved via these monthly transports. Animals come from the Coachella Valley Animal Campus, Palm Springs Animal Shelter, Animal Samaritans and Forever Meow.

If you are interested in donating your time as a volunteer driver for future transports, contact Animal Samaritans.
