Officials from Homeland Security Investigations said in a statement released Tuesday that they began investigating Korwin in response to a Craigslist ad he posted online. Korwin allegedly agreed to meet with the girl, but was met by federal agents when he arrived.

According to Desert Mirage High’s website, Korwin is a green energy and technology teacher. However, there is no indication that any alleged abuse took place at the Thermal campus.

Korwin, who’s being held on $250,000 bail, will next appear in Imperial County Superior Court on Wednesday.
