Police search for attempted bank robber in Cathedral City

The Cathedral City Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery at Chase Bank inside the Stater Bro’s located at Vista Chino and Landau Blvd. on Tuesday.

Officers said a Hispanic man who is believed to be about 30 years old approached the tellers and asked for money. He didn’t have a weapon or make any threats. According to authorities, the bank tellers didn’t give the man any money and he left the scene on foot after being denied.

The suspect had facial hair but there was no further description provided by police. He was wearing a blue baseball hat at the time of the attempted robbery.
