Twentynine Palms Marine gets 8 years in prison for DUI crash

A Twentynine Palms Marine is sentenced to 8 years in state prison for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

23-year old Mariah Natividad, pleaded guilty in April to a DUI crash that killed a prominent Twentynine Palms dentist and his wife. Natividad rear-ended a pick-up truck traveling eastbound on Highway 62 near Juniper Road in Joshua Tree in May of 2015. The truck rolled several times.

Doctor Lonnie Tiner and his wife Patricia died the next day at Desert Regional Medical Center. A large number of family members were present at the sentencing hearing to give victim impact statements.
