Elderly man found dead on hiking trail was a pastor in Indio
We’re learning more about an elderly man who was found dead on a hiking trail in La Quinta over the weekend. The man was identified as Frank Amado.
His wife told KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 that Amado was a pastor at The Potter House in Indio.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call for a missing elderly man who went hiking in the La Quinta Cove area. The call was made at about about 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Deputies found Amado’s body on a hiking trail Saturday afternoon. The cause of death has not been confirmed, but temperatures were well above normal and can be extremely dangerous.
