Four people left homeless after house fire in Indio

Four people are homeless this Saturday after a home in Indio goes up in flames.

According to Cal Fire, just after 10:00 a.m. they got a call of a home on fire on the 45-000 block of Deglet Noor Street. When they arrived they found the home fully engulfed in flames and they issued a 2nd alarm call.

It took almost an hour to extinguish the blaze, but it has been contained according to Cal Fire’s website. According to a witness, he heard explosions right before seeing heavy black smoke fill the sky nearby.

The American Red Cross has been requested to assist with four adults displaced by the fire. We are also told by some nearby residents that one dog died in the fire, and that there were several other animals inside at the time of the blaze.
