“When I got that call at 6 am it just broke my heart it didn’t seem real I thought it was fake a joke or something and I was going to be mad at him. When I found out he got shot it crushed me he didn’t deserve it at all,” said Shy Long, Solomon Patrick’s Cousin.

“I first heard the name and I thought it was a different Solomon I didn’t think anyone would ever want to hurt him. He was so positive and so happy,” said Tajarah Jackson, friend, and classmate of Patrick’s.

Police do not believe Patrick was affiliated with gangs. They are still searching for 3 Hispanic male suspects in the shooting.

Family members are calling for the end of racial violence.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact cathedral city police immediately.
