Questions remain about resignation of Indio’s City Manager

A statement released by the city said the city council and Dan Martinez “mutually agreed to end their relationship,” but did not elaborate on the reasons. The city statement called him a “great asset” and credited him with helping to pull the city out of an economic downturn in 2010.

Indio Mayor Elaine Holmes refused to comment Wednesday evening on any further details on Martinez quitting.

Martinez, who did not reveal his future plans, said he was “extremely proud of the many accomplishments and advances that we have made during my tenure.”
