Stolen car crashed into car wash during Indio police chase
The Indio Police Department arrested a man Thursday morning after he led police on a short pursuit in a stolen car, which ended when the man crashed the car into a Circle K car wash building near Monroe Street and Avenue 42.
According to Sgt. Dan Marshall, police were called about a suspicious vehicle in the Shadow Lake area which turned out to be a stolen vehicle which was reported at about the same time. The suspect sped away in the vehicle when officer tried to pull him over.

Officers decided to terminate the pursuit when the suspect began driving on the opposite side of the road. The suspect ended up crashing the vehicle into the car wash building at the Circle K shortly after, Sgt. Marshall said. The suspect ran from the crash but officers took him into custody quickly.
There was also a woman in the car at the time of the pursuit. Both the suspect and the passenger sustained moderate injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital, Sgt. Marshall told KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2.
We’re still waiting on the official charges the suspect is facing, but Sgt. Marshall said the man was arrested on multiple felony charges. There was no word if the woman was being charged with any crimes.
