Motorcyclist hospitalized following accident in Cathedral City

One motorcyclist was taken to the hospital after an accident in Cathedral City.

The accident happened at the intersection of Dinah Shore and Date Palm at about 8:30 p.m.

According to Cathedral City Deputy Police Chief Travis Walker, the motorcycle and another vehicle were turning onto Date Palm when the motorcycle clipped the vehicle. The motorcycle then hit the curb and the driver fell off the bike.

The rider suffered injuries to his face but did not sustain any serious or life-threatening injuries, Walker said.

Walker said the driver of the other vehicle pulled over and fully cooperated with police. The driver was allowed to leave shortly afterwards.

Police do not believe there was any criminal activity involved in the accident.
