An accused Palm Springs cop killer was expected to be in court Friday in Indio where a judge will decide whether John Felix, 26, is mentally fit to stand trial.

The hearing comes two weeks after a decision was delayed to give Felix’s defense team more time to look over a second doctor’s report.
Felix is accused of killing two Palm Springs Police Officers, Jose “Gil” Vega and Lesley Zerebny back in October of 2016 as they responded to a domestic disturbance call.
Last month, a judge ordered a mental health evaluation for Felix from two doctors.
The examinations have slowed the criminal proceedings in the case.
