Three people suffer major injuries after truck overturns in Desert Center
Three people, including a male juvenile, suffered major injuries after the truck they were in overturned on Interstate 10 in Desert Center Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred at 1:25 p.m., officers say an unidentified male driver was driving the truck westbound on Interstate 10, west of Box Canyon Road. The truck’s right rear tire rapidly deflated and the vehicle traveled into the center divider. The driver lost control of the truck, and it overturned.
According to the California Highway Patrol, there were two other passengers in the truck, an adult female, and a male juvenile. Officers said the male juvenile was ejected during the collision.
The three sustained major injuries and were transported to Desert Regional by ambulance and helicopter.
The collision remains under investigation, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor.
