Coachella Valley Rescue Mission host annual backpack giveaway

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is giving away back-to-school supplies. At 7 a.m. Saturday they will host their annual “Backpack Bonanza Giveaway.”

With school already beginning for many children across the valley, the mission hopes to alleviate some of the costs for families. Last year they provided school supplies for more than 2,000 kids. This year they are estimating there will be closer to 3,000 children.

The mission is located at 47-470 Van Buren Street in Indio.
