One person seriously injured in Indio mobile home fire
One person was taken to the hospital after suffering severe burns following a mobile home fire in Indio Tuesday morning. The fire spread to five neighboring homes and four vehicles.
It happened around 6:45 AM at the Elms Mobile Park on Indio Boulevard . Indio Boulevard southbound was closed due to the fire and the I-10 was backed up in the area.
A viewer, Briana Monique Palomares, sent us video of the scene.
We’re told smoke could be seen all the way from Thermal and Mecca.
The fire destroyed four homes and three vehicles, and damaged two homes and one vehicle. Crews were able to contain the fire within an hour.
