High School Football Preview: Joshua Springs
The term powerhouse when talking about a football program is often times over used. Sure teams win a lot of games, but others win championships. That is the case up in Yucca Valley with Joshua Springs. 4-straight CIF Championships, 31-straight wins, and now trying to define themselves as one of the best nationwide.
“We play the number one team in Arizona and the number one team in Nevada, the San Diego section champs and the runner ups in Division one and 2 8-man so pretty grueling schedule this year.”
This squad lost 2-CIF MVP’s and 4-ALL CIF players from a season ago, and they are just going to do what they do best. Reload, and put the big boys up front and run the rock.
“Everyone expects us to be worse that we are last year. We make up for it every year. We lose one player and someone steps up. Kids just have to step up and fill positions. That’s how we do it.”
“Rely on the run game like we do every year.”
Whether it’s CIF Champs or reaching new heights, the goals are always set high.
“As long as we put in that work and dedication I know we can be number one in the nation.”
“Another championship always are goal and expectation. To build team bonding this year, get everyone on the same page, and this year with our schedule we are hoping to improve our national ranking to see where we are nationally.”
