Firefighters contain mobile home fire near Desert Hot Springs

Firefighters battle residential structure fire at a mobile home park near Desert Hot Springs Tuesday afternoon.

At 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Cal Fire/ Riverside County Firefighters responded to multiple reports of a residential structure fire at the Casa Del Sol Mobile Home Park on the 1700 block of Corkill Road near Desert Hot Springs.

Firefighters arrived on scene and reported a single-wide mobile home partially involved in fire.

Witnesses told KESQ / CBS Local 2 that they smelled smoke in the area, then noticed fire coming from the hot water heater closet in the mobile home, they then called 911.

7 people (3 children & 4 adults) were displaced from their home, the owner of the mobile home said.

The fire was contained at 4:12 p.m.
