Comic Con Palm Springs kicks off first day
Comic Con Palm Springs returned Friday for three days of celebration of the comic book and film industries’ characters and behind-the-scenes professionals.
Thousands of people flooded the Palm Springs Convention Center to see check out the best in the world of superheroes.
Major names are slated to appear through Sunday, most notable Stan Lee; along with the original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter; the voice SpongeBob SquarePants voice actor Tom Kenny; plus many more.
This year’s event introduces the Stan Lee Museum, which is being called the largest collection of his memorabilia on the west coast.
“This is a one of a kind special event first time ever in Palm Springs the only west coast appearance of the Stan Lee museum this is an aggregated collection of over 70 years for Stan Lee and his long time manager max put this together,” said Chris Spellman, the Executive Producer of Comic Con Palm Springs.
Another new addition to the event is a zombie cafe and a 3D festival outside the venue.

We spoke Tom Kenny, the voice of Spongebob Squarepants, who gave us some advice on how to sound like a sponge that lives in a pineapple under the sea and told us about some strange interactions he’s had with fans.
Organizers say they expect nearly 25,000 people to attend this year’s convention, which opens to at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Other events scheduled through the weekend include a musical performance by Lynda Carter, the Comic Con Palm Springs Fashion Show, costume contest and a live script reading of “Back to the Future” by a full lineup of voice-acting veterans.
Tickets starting at $35 for one-day or $60 for all three days remain available at the door or online. Kids 12 and under get in free.
