Desert Hot Springs assault suspect detained

UPDATE: 11:59 P.M.

A female was detained late Saturday night in connection to an assault on two people in Desert Hot Springs.

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Armando Munoz, deputies responded to a call around 8:45 p.m. of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 9000 block of Clubhouse Boulevard in the Mission Lakes Country Club.

Munoz originally said two females were taken to a local hospital, but updated that information to be one male and one female. The victims, both adults, were transported with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities spent several hours searching the area for the suspect and had taken a female into custody by midnight.

Munoz said there was no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing and no other details have been released.
