Las Vegas shooting victims include Riverside Co. Sheriff’s deputies, Indio teacher

The mass shooting in Las Vegas included victims in the Coachella Valley and local law enforcement.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirm that a deputy is in critical condition after being shot during the Las Vegas concert shooting. It also said one correctional deputy was injured, but has been treated and released. The department also confirmed that a number of personnel were present.

Sheriff Stan Sniff said liaisons were dispatched to Las Vegas to help any staff cope with the aftermath of the shooting.

An east valley teacher is among the injured during the Las Vegas mass shooting. Alexis Arias, a teacher at Amistad Continuation High School is said to have been shot according to her aunt.

Mary Perry, Desert Sands Unified School District spokesperson says Arias is in stable condition and Las Vegas doctors are evaluating what kind of treatment she will be receiving.

Arias’ family released a statement saying “sustained a gunshot wound during the Las Vegas attack and in the process of escaping, also sustained a broken pelvis”.

Counselors are at Amistad High School helping students cope, they are also at other DSUSD schools because other students may know Arias.
