Thousands support 31st annual Desert AIDS walk in Palm Springs

Thousands of people showed up in support of the 31st annual Desert AIDS walk in Palm Springs.

The annual walk shines a spotlight on the efforts to stop the spread of HIV.

“This year we will bring over 400 new people into care and we’re able to do that because of the care of this community. We’re so fortunate to live in the Coachella Valley, where we have an opportunity to provide comprehensive health care to people living with HIV or people who are low income or don’t have health care,” said David Brinkman, Desert AIDS Project CEO.

The event helps make it possible for the Desert AIDS Project to provide its patients and clients with numerous services like:

— Medical and Dental Care
— Medications
— Housing
— Transportation Assistance
— Behavioral Health Counseling
— A community center providing 20 support services including skills-for-living and return-to-work training.
