Injured hiker rescued in remote area of Pinyon Pines
Riverside County firefighters Sunday rescued an injured man who was hurt hiking in a remote area of Pinyon Pines near Palm Springs, authorities said.
The injury was reported at 7:13 p.m., north of 68700 Alpine Drive, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
A Riverside County sheriff’s helicopter used its lights to help locate the patient, who was taken to a hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries, Hagemann said.
His injuries were moderate, she said.
