Judge upholds attempted murder charges on accused Thousand Palms party shooter
The family of the man facing attempted murder charges in the shooting of three people at a party in Thousand Palms last month, are speaking out.
The judge ruled that the changes the district attorney’s office made to charges being faced by Carlos Ulloa, 41, would stand.
Ulloa’s attorney argued the filing of the charges was a clerical error and prejudiced her client by causing him to face more serious charges.
Originally Ulloa pleaded not guilty to firearms charges when he turned himself in last month and bailed out.
He was arrested last week in court when attempted murder charges were filed and his bail was increased. His family says the shooting was done in self-defense.
“He was on his property and he was just defending himself, because he was attacked. He was just defending himself,” said Jenny Ulloa, Carlos’ sister.
Guillermo Delgado, one of the three shooting victims did not want to appear on camera but said he agreed with the judge’s decision and simply wanted to see justice.
Bail for Ulloa was set at $1 million and Ulloa’s family said it is making plans to bail him out.
